3/10/15: Baby wearing

I never really wore Samara in any sort of wrap when she was a newborn. We have a Baby Bjorn, but she didn't like being in that until she could face out and see the world. Knowing that Samara would probably demand lots of attention, I got a Baby K'Tan to wear Zane so I could have my hands free. I never really got the hang of it and only used it a handful of times. Here is the one time that I not only used it, but got Zane to fall asleep in it.

3/7/15: Trip to the ER
March 7, 2015
Early this morning Zane felt really warm and had a 103 temperature, which resulted in a 2 am trip to the ER. The doctor looked in his ears and told me that he probably has an ear infection and they didn't need to do a lumbar puncture, but they still needed to take blood and urine samples and take chest X-rays.
Here is Zane bundled up in blankets fresh from the warmer, waiting for samples to be taken.

It was really hard to watch his blood being taken as they had to try more than one spot to get enough for testing. The rest of the tests went smoothly. Here is Zane all conked out while we wait for the results.
Around 5:30 am the doctor told us everything was negative, so we could go home and start antibiotics. I put Zane down when I got home, then shortly after Samara woke up. No rest for the weary today!

3/5/15: I am 7 weeks old!

It is the end of another week, making Zane 7 weeks old! I can't believe my maternity leave is half over!
At this point, Zane still doesn't really enjoy baths, but he does look cute in his towel.

His hair looks the best right after a bath, when it is all soft and fuzzy.
As an end to this post, I will leave you with a half-sleeping, smiley baby. I can't wait until he smiles an actual smile.

Grampi and Grandma came over for a visit, and fell deeper in love with Zane. Even Samara wants to help clean his spit up!

After Grampi and Grandma left, I wanted to see if Zane liked the mobile more than the playmat. He doesn't really pay attention to it, so I guess not.

Zane is 6 weeks old today!
Aunty Lee and Cousin Frances came over to meet Zane and catch up with Samara. Samara kept Cousin Frances entertained while Aunty Lee got some alone time with Zane. These aren't the best pictures of Zane. He looks cuter in person.

Later that evening, Zane was hanging out with Seth on the couch. Then Samara comes along and Zane's reaction is pretty funny.
