Zane is 3 months old! To begin the day, Nana, Zane and I went to my Mommy and Me class. Nana really enjoyed spending the time with Zane and seeing the other moms with their new babies.
When Samara came home from daycare, she wanted to climb into Zane's crib. She was very affectionate and loving towards her little brother.
Then, when Daddy got home, Zane enjoyed some nice tickles. His uncoordinated response is kinda funny.
4/13/15: Zane really likes the mobile

Today Zane seemed really into the mobile for the first time. He maintained eye contact and was moving his little arms and legs around in happiness.

4/12/15: Grampi and Grandma visit (photopalooza)

I thought it would be funny to take the photos from yesterday and kick it up a notch by dressing Samara and Zane in matching, unfancy onesies. Cuteness still happened.
Then Samara came along and needed to steal the show.
Even Samara noticed how awesome Zane's hair is.

Samara wanted Zane to sit next to her, so I very cautiously balanced him in an upright position and waited with my camera to see what would happen. Cuteness happened.

4/10/15: I am 12 weeks old!

I can't believe I have spent 12 weeks with this cutie:
I wished Zane a happy 12 weeks, and he responded with smiles and laughs. I guess he has enjoyed his 12 weeks with me as well.
Zane has always had really strong legs that he uses to launch himself whenever they touch something. Because he is still swaddled, I am afraid he is going to fall out of the Rock and Play. He has also been a really, really bad sleeper. He is growing out of the Miracle Blanket, and I want him to learn how to sleep in his crib. So I decided I was going to take him out of the swaddle and put him in the crib at the same time, seeing as his sleep is so terrible anyway that it really can't get much worse. Well, it did. I originally used the sleep sacks that Samara used with no problem very early own. Zane's startle reflex still wakes him up, so I bought this ridiculous Sleep Suit that he looks hilarious in.

The Merlin Suit wasn't "Magic," in the sense that he immediately started sleeping more, but I definitely believe that it helped.
4/6/15: Pacifier!

Unlike Samara, who took to a pacifier and her fingers like a champ, Zane has flat out refused them. If you stick a pacifier in his mouth, he immediately spits it out. As much as we hate Samara sucking on her fingers all the time, it is nice to have something to help soothe an upset baby. Luckily Zane is a pretty chill dude, so this is only a problem when he is really tired or hungry when we are on long car rides. I always have a pacifier in Zane's infant seat on the off chance he might take it.
Surprisingly, at this moment he stuck it in his own mouth!
Spolier alert: this was the last time he let a pacifier in his mouth for a while.

Zane is 11 weeks old! He smiles all the time and is such a happy, chill baby. I want to hear him laugh, so I was tickling him to try to get a laugh out of him. It almost worked, but I did get a lot of smiles.

3/26/15: Scratchy face

I hate clipping baby nails. I usually wait until they start scratching me, then I reluctantly trim them all the while being nervous that I am going to draw blood. When I saw Zane this morning I realized I had to cut his nails IMMEDIATELY. Look at his poor face.

It looks like he is dealing with it pretty well.
I also noticed he has a new upper lip sucking habit. You can see him do it twice in the video below. You will also see me trying to tickle Zane because, if he is in the right mood, he will do a cute little giggle. It sort of worked.

3/25/15: Sneezes and smiles

Lately, I feel as if Zane and I are communicating and having a conversation. I ask him questions and he coos back in response. I caught an example of this, but it gets interrupted by some cute sneezing and smiles.
I managed to capture the tail end of another cute Zane smile, but then he got so excited he wiggled a bit in my hands, surprising himself.

3/24/15: On the move and batting at toys

Zane has always liked "launching" himself. Whenever his feet touch something, he tries to push off of it. He will push against my belly or my legs when I am playing with him on the floor, and sometimes he will push himself forward when he is on the Boppy. I am thinking he might be an early crawler ever since I saw him do this:
Now that Zane is almost 2.5 months old, he has started showing some genuine interest in toys. Here he is again on the playmat trying to grab the toys.
